Join us Wednesday, March 1 for our Ash Wednesday prayer chapel. Details are below, email us at info@parishanglican.org if you have any questions or need more information.
- Where: The Cottage, 37 Church Street, Alpharetta, GA 30009
- When: Wednesday, March 1, 6am-1pm
- “Group Prayer” Times: 6:30am, 9:30am, 12:30pm
What to expect: The Chapel will be open the entire morning, so you can come and go as your schedule allows. There will be space for individual prayer and meditation, and a written guided prayer you can work through at your own pace. If you would like to pray along with others, we will hold group prayer times at 6:30am, 9:30am, and 12:30pm. Each person can receive ashes on their forehead if they wish, or simply find time and space to pray.
What is Ash Wednesday?: This day marks the beginning of the season of Lent, a 40-day journey that mirrors the 40 days Jesus spent in the wilderness. On Ash Wednesday, people traditionally receive the “mark of our mortal nature,” ashes on the forehead in the shape of the cross. This simple practice reminds us that no matter who we are or how successful we may be, we are dust, and to dust we shall return.
Hope to see you there!
