The Parish is a church community in Alpharetta, Georgia, founded in 2014.
We seek to be deeply shaped by the way of Jesus as we practice Christ’s life together.
We value a simple and present approach to church, rooted in a conviction that Christ holds us together at His table. Rooted in the rich history and broad scope of the Anglican tradition, we emphasize spiritual formation, deep community, heartfelt worship, sacramental imagination, neighboring presence, and contemplative practice.
Worship gatherings at The Parish are intentional, lively, and relaxed. Amidst coffee and conversation, we gather around modern (but simple) music, guided spiritual practices, honest sermons as invitations into Jesus’ story, and the celebration of the Eucharist set against historic liturgy.
We endeavor to embody a fresh expression of our ancient faith, blending the great traditions of the Christian story to become a people who are deeply formed, prayer-filled, others-oriented, Kingdom-directed, and Spirit-dependent.
Following the example of the early Church, we pattern our life together in a rhythm that includes both whole-church worship (most Sundays) and gatherings in mid-sized House Church communities on the 4th Sunday of the month.
Our beliefs are best expressed in the Church’s foundational creeds (the Apostles’ and Nicene Creed).
We practice being united amidst differences, seeking to become a community of refuge and pathway; a presence-driven church; a via media (middle way); a people blessed, broken, and given by Christ for the life of the world.
Here are the values that guide our approach to church:

- We invest deeply in God-given relationships
- We serve from an overflow of growing union with Christ
No.
04
Generous
Rather than comfortably consuming spiritual goods, we sacrificially practice the way of Jesus by releasing our need for comfort, certainty, approval, and security.
- We prioritize the needs of others over personal comfort
- We serve and give generously to the mission of the Parish
- We take our place in God’s mission of restoration while sacrificing for the marginalized and poor
No.
05
United
We are a people among whom those who look or think differently can be united in love and fellowship, centered on the person and grace of Jesus Christ.
- We walk with others as we love and listen, recognizing that difference need not lead to division
- We bridge cultural, racial, economic and gender divides for Christ
- We embrace the gifts and guide of the global and historical Church

Worship Pastor

David and his wife, Keely, are happiest in a hammock in the springtime. If you can’t find them outside, they’re likely at home reading, cooking, napping, or playing piano together. After getting married in 2015, they moved to Atlanta (and later Alpharetta), where David teaches at Mount Pisgah Christian School and Keely works as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. They recently welcomed their first child, McCabe.
As the youngest of four in a musical family, David grew up with a love for music. His mom fondly recalls stories of baby Dave whistling hymns in the church pew while the rest of the family smiled and sang along. From those humble roots, he has been leading worship in churches most of his life, now sharing that passion with McCabe as they explore music together.

Ministry & Care Coordinator
Email SHANNON
Georgia (Forsyth County) is where Shannon has lived for the better part of the past 20 years. But Tennessee is where her roots are, and Ohio is in her bones. Her first 20 years orbited around Lipscomb University in Nashville, where she attended the campus school from first through twelfth grades, met her husband, John, and then graduated from the university with a BS in Elementary Education.
Raising and educating her four children has been her vocation prior to joining the Parish staff. She comes from long line of teachers, pastors, preachers, and elders. She brings her formal equipping as an educator, accrued wisdom as mother, and a shepherd’s heart to the families and children of our church. When she’s not engaged in church work, you’re likely to find her in her garden with dirty hands and a happy heart. One day, she dreams of not just shepherding people but sheep as well.
Our Vestry
The Vestry is a lay council who oversee the temporal matters of our church, while supporting our staff and upholding the financial integrity of our community. The Vestry also comes together regularly to provide discernment, counsel, and support around each step in our community’s journey. You can learn more about our Vestry and how it works.

The Parish is a community rooted in the rich history and broad scope of the Anglican Church.
We belong to a worldwide Anglican Communion, constituting the third largest Christian body globally. As Anglicans, we hold to the via media, or “middle way.” This middle way teaches us to make room for all we see in Jesus, rooted in a conviction that we are held together around His table.
The Parish is a part of a specific group, or diocese, of Anglican churches called Churches for the Sake of Others (C4SO). Founded by Bishop Todd Hunter and now led by Bishop Jeff Bailey, C4SO seeks to announce, embody, and demonstrate the Kingdom of God.
