Daily Office | 3.9.14

We are in the first week of Lent, the season in the church calendar in which we prepare for the death of Christ on Good Friday and His Resurrection on Easter Sunday. Lent is a season marked by repentance, prayer, and fasting as we prepare our hearts for the Easter celebration to come.

This prayer (or Collect) and these scriptures are taken from the Anglican Book of Common Prayer.

Almighty God, whose blessed Son was led by the Spirit to be tempted by Satan; Come quickly to help us who are assaulted by many temptations; and, as you know the weaknesses of each of us, let each one find you mighty to save; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
