Through music, meditative prayer, and Scriptural reflection, we listen in on Jesus’ final words to his followers in the Upper Room. With the disciples, we breathe in Christ’s Spirit of peace for difficult days. Finally, we travel to Gethsemane, kneeling in the garden of our own grief as we learn to say “thy will be done.”

Audio Only:

Opening Song: Song of Lament

I bring you my pain
I give you my sorrow
I offer my shame
The threat of tomorrow

I’ve heard that you’re close
To the brokenhearted
And near to the cries of the poor
Well, prove it I’m on the floor
I’ll wait

Should I thank you for pain?
Do I thank you for sorrow?
I’ll bring you my shame
The threat of tomorrow
Thank you for all that can finally grow
In the soil of death and despair
Thank you for meeting me here
Thank you for meeting me here

Thank you for doubt
Thanks for despair
When options run out
For mercifully unanswered prayers

Thank you for all that is possible
In the space that pain can create
I’ll cling to amazing grace,
And wait

Amazing grace

Closing Song: Peace (A Communion Blessing)

Though we’re strangers, still I love you
I love you more than your mask
And you know you have to trust this to be true
And I know that’s much to ask

But lay down your fears
Come and join this feast
He has called us here
You and me

And may peace rain down from Heaven
Like little pieces of the sky
Little keepers of the promise
On these souls, this drought has dried

In His Blood and in His Body
In this Bread and in this Wine
Peace to you
The Peace of Christ to you

And though I love you, still we’re strangers
Prisoners in these lonely hearts
And though our blindness separates us
Still His light shines in the dark

And His outstretched arms
Are still strong enough to reach
Behind these prison bars
To set us free

So may peace rain down from Heaven
Like little pieces of the sky
Little keepers of the promise
Falling on these souls, the drought has dried

In His Blood and in His Body
In this Bread and in this Wine
Peace to you
Peace of Christ to you
