Parish Family Ministry | September
Happy September, Parish families! We hope you are enjoying the smell of pumpkin spice and cinnamon, because it will probably infuse everything you do and everywhere you go for the next couple of months. Yep, fall is creeping up on us in the best possible way, and we’re all set for it at The Parish. Here’s a look at what we’ll be learning in Parish Kids this September.
PRESCHOOL :: We are learning Proverbs 3:5, “Trust the Lord with all your heart.” We’ll be asking them all month, “Who can you trust?” as they learn to answer, “I can trust God.” We’ll go through the stories of Noah (Genesis 6-9), Jonah (Jonah 1-3), and Naaman (2 Kings 5:1-14), learning that because God loves us, we can always trust Him.
ELEMENTARY :: These kiddos are also learning to trust God, with a focus on the story of Joseph in Genesis 37-45. We’ll highlight the idea that trust is putting your confidence in someone you can depend on. Their memory verse for September is also Proverbs 3:5, “Trust the Lord with all your heart. Do not depend on your own understanding.”
MIDDLE SCHOOL :: We will continue discussing family relationships, and, later in the month, making wise choices. We’ll discuss how to be happy by considering now and later when they make decisions. Social media will also be high on the radar this month, as we talk about finding our worth in God than our likes.
The Parent Cue is a way to help you interact with your kids around these topics. Visit the website, download the app, or pick up a printed version at The Parish this Sunday.
